Volunteer Information
With an all-volunteer Board of Directors, For Kitty's Sake truly recognizes and deeply appreciates the commitment of time and energy of our volunteers. Volunteers help us raise funds, they enrich the lives of our animals, and they help spread the word about the importance of our non-profit’s work to give a better/improved quality of life to animals in need in Gloucester County and surrounding areas.
While we are based in Gloucester County, New Jersey, volunteers from all over the world can help us by holding fundraisers or making individual donations to help our organization meet our goals. Locally, we need helping hands on a number of levels. It is the commitment and generous support of individuals like you that makes it all possible.
If you are interested in helping, or have any questions, please stop in the Mantua PetSmart to fill out a Volunteer Application. You can also email hello@forkittyssake.org.
We would love to hear any ideas you might have to develop our volunteer base to help with fundraising, grant prospecting, event development, and volunteer coordination.

What our volunteers are saying
"I began volunteering because I wanted to be more involved in my community and I thought working with cats and other cat lovers would be a valuable way to spend my extra time.
Helping care for cats and find them homes through fostering and volunteering has been far more rewarding than I could have imagined and I’ve met some really wonderful people along the way, too."
Emily C., Volunteer since February 2018
"I have been taught to give back and I get so much emotionally, and volunteering with animals feeds my soul. Animals are not able to help themselves; they need advocates and love, and I can provide both.
The feeling of holding a cat who hasn’t had much human interaction and seeing the way they look in your eyes – it doesn’t get much better than that for me."
Rita S., Volunteer since December 1992
"I started volunteering to bring positivity and optimism to the animals and the families that adopt.
It’s been so rewarding to see these families - who may have lost a loved one or they’re just simply starting their journey with their first pet - leave our facilities with a huge smile. "
Danielle L., Volunteer since October 2017
"I volunteer because
I know I make a difference in the lives of these kitties, all which depend on us for love, care and compassion. And there is no better feeling than posting the “my bags are packed -I’m going home” sign! "
Tina P., Volunteer since 2009
"Helping a cat find a forever home is
so rewarding and heartwarming. You get to make lots of friends along the way too!"
Jen G., Volunteer since February 2019
"Working with animals and wanting to make the world a better place has always been a dream of mine. Being a volunteer for For Kitty’s Sake is
a way for me to give back to the community and help those who can’t help themselves. I’ve learned so much from working with this group, and I’ve made lifelong friendships that I’ll treasure forever!"
Charlie M., Volunteer since January 2018
